Summary

OPIS KSIĄŻki:

Droga Icemana to książka legendarnego Wima Hofa – holenderskiego rekordzisty i guru sprawności fizycznej。 Hof, znany również jako Iceman, do perfekcji opanował kontrolowanie swojego organizmu i wypracował ponadprzeciętną odporność na niskie temperatury。 Jego niekonwencjonalne metody treningowe pozwalają na osiąganie spektakularnych wyników oraz znaczne zwiększenie wydolności ciała, nic więc dziwnego że przyciągają rzesze zwolenników。

Udowodniono naukowo, że legendarna metoda Wima Hofa przynosi wymierne rezultaty:

podnosi poziom energii,
poprawia krążenie,
łagodzi stres i pozytywnie wpływa na jakość snu,
poprawia koncentrację i siłę woli,
wzmacnia układ odpornościowy i całe ciało,

I am now inspired to take cold showers!

Really great concept, poo execution。 Watching the Wim Hoff youtube channel gives you practically all the information in this book in a much shorter time frame。 Also, the breathing techniques are poorly described in the book and you have to go watch videos or read other books to figure out how to do them properly。

Very interesting and makes you think about health

Interesting breathing method but quite poorly written。 Those with no scientific background will be suited

AN interesting run through but no novel information and the writing isn't that great。 AN interesting run through but no novel information and the writing isn't that great。 。。。more

Interesting ideas are buried under (poorly written) pile of unnecessary words。 It feels like reading an advertisement a reader has paid for。 As others already said, Wim Hof himself seems to have very little connection with the book。Anyway, I'm still curious about the method。 Interesting ideas are buried under (poorly written) pile of unnecessary words。 It feels like reading an advertisement a reader has paid for。 As others already said, Wim Hof himself seems to have very little connection with the book。Anyway, I'm still curious about the method。 。。。more

I love these concepts and I believe in his teachings/philosophy。 I’ve been practicing his breathing method since I started following him on YouTube。 I’d hoped the book would have more in-depth information。 You can glean everything in this book from just watching his YouTube channel。

Wim has an amazing journey。 Very interesting mind。 This idea is so simple yet translates into a door way into myself that i didn't realize was there。 Wim has an amazing journey。 Very interesting mind。 This idea is so simple yet translates into a door way into myself that i didn't realize was there。 。。。more

An intro to cold exposure and breathwork。 There are almost certainly better books for this, as this one is fairly vague and poorly put together。 There are some steps given to practice cold showers and breathing routines at home, along with some research studies to back up the benefits of both。 But if you want more in-depth research, or more than just a single routine to practice for each, find another option。 Wim has two other books listed, or another author may have something better to offer。 I An intro to cold exposure and breathwork。 There are almost certainly better books for this, as this one is fairly vague and poorly put together。 There are some steps given to practice cold showers and breathing routines at home, along with some research studies to back up the benefits of both。 But if you want more in-depth research, or more than just a single routine to practice for each, find another option。 Wim has two other books listed, or another author may have something better to offer。 I highly recommend Breath by James Nestor for the single topic of breathwork。 The ebook has a ton of pictures of Wim shirtless on snowy mountains, doing some meditative poses, running, taking cold dips, and hiking with others。 But by far the best picture is Wim doing what looks like an interview while submerged in a tank of ice。 There's a camera crew, a reporter sitting at the top of a ladder above Wim, and Shaq standing next to the tank with his hands in his pockets。 This picture, like all the rest, has no caption or explanation。 。。。more

As others have said, very poorly written, presumably due to the translation from Dutch。 Very brief introduction to the Wim Hof Method which I do find interesting so will look into it more。

The Way of the Iceman, reviewed by Tevin Gongo It is a good instruction to the Wim Hof Method。 The book is at the image of its hero, Wim Hof, simple and straight to the point。 The book is easy to read and to understand。 There is no false claim, no desire to convince anyone。 It is "just" an accumulation of of what I'd call "testimonials" that are convenient enough to raise some level of curiosity。 It belongs after to each one to decide or not to push the investigation further and why not to decid The Way of the Iceman, reviewed by Tevin Gongo It is a good instruction to the Wim Hof Method。 The book is at the image of its hero, Wim Hof, simple and straight to the point。 The book is easy to read and to understand。 There is no false claim, no desire to convince anyone。 It is "just" an accumulation of of what I'd call "testimonials" that are convenient enough to raise some level of curiosity。 It belongs after to each one to decide or not to push the investigation further and why not to decide to experiment。 I'm for sure decided to learn more and integrate in my daily life, breathing exercise, cold therapy and commitment。 Nothing to lose, everything to win😉 。。。more

Technical and scientific approach on the WHM。 I was introduced to the method about 3 years ago now and have applied it on multiple occasions including experimental, during sickness, during anxiety, depression and for every application I found it very effective。 This is a great life skill in all aspects。

Although the persona of Wim Hof is very inspiring and motivating, the book is written very poorly。 I am unable to justify rating it higher than two stars。 I expected to learn more about his method but instead there were many anecdotal evidence proving nothing and just making the book artificially longer。 Unfortunately, the whole substantive content takes about 3 pages and could be just a blog post。

My rating got influenced by the availability of some newer resources on the subject, including Wim Hof’s newly released book which I’m eager to read。 But this book is undeniably a valuable resource for someone unfamiliar with his methods and can become a game-changer in anybody’s life。

My best mistake this yearThis was a accidental read ment to down load Wim Hot method but have to say it was a very good mistake if the ice man is of any interest to you this book is definitely worth the read

This was disappointing。 I have been interested in WHM for some time, I have watched videos and read some articles, so I hoped this book would give me more insight as to what is the WHM and how I can implement it in my life。 Well first annoying thing - it is written in 3rd person and the writer is annoyingly hyped about Wim Hof and his method。 The second thing - a lot of words not much content。 All I learned was to do deep breaths in, deep breaths out and pause after for thirty rounds and to take This was disappointing。 I have been interested in WHM for some time, I have watched videos and read some articles, so I hoped this book would give me more insight as to what is the WHM and how I can implement it in my life。 Well first annoying thing - it is written in 3rd person and the writer is annoyingly hyped about Wim Hof and his method。 The second thing - a lot of words not much content。 All I learned was to do deep breaths in, deep breaths out and pause after for thirty rounds and to take cold showers。 It explained how the cold training and breathing can reduce many illnesses, but did not explain any more breathing methods or could training methods。 So overall - meh。 。。。more

The Way of the Iceman provides information about the benefits of cold showers and breathing exercises。 The concepts are well explained and the book is written in a very basic way that everyone could understand。 For someone like me who already has knowledge about the benefits of being exposed to cold temperature, I expected more details considering all the knowledge and expertise that Wim Hof has。 However, this book is a very good start for people who wants to learn about the Wim Hof technique。 A The Way of the Iceman provides information about the benefits of cold showers and breathing exercises。 The concepts are well explained and the book is written in a very basic way that everyone could understand。 For someone like me who already has knowledge about the benefits of being exposed to cold temperature, I expected more details considering all the knowledge and expertise that Wim Hof has。 However, this book is a very good start for people who wants to learn about the Wim Hof technique。 As always, be judgemental when you read books: it has been proven that the cold helps for depression and anxiety and many other problems, but if you have a condition that requires you to take medication, take them and add those exercises。I would recommend this book to anyone, always happy to share my love for the cold and all the benefits you can get from it。 。。。more

Most of these things in the book dosent make sense, is a lie or exaggerated to a such extent that i wouldent recommend anyone reading this nonsense。Im a firm beliver i yoga and meditation, but this is just nuts。Some of the stuff he procalimed to do (3 hour horse stance) is not even legit since the stance he did wouldent even be accepted at kids karate class。

Wim Hof is an interesting guy。 I have heard him speak on his method on several podcasts, like The Joe Rogan Experience and Under the Skin with Russell Brand。 I have always been curious about health practices that not many know about and in that way Wim is a pioneer。 What I really like about his approach is just how much enthusiasm he has for what he does。 I have tried some of these techniques and I am curious about getting into cold water treatments。 I want to implement new approaches in 2021 an Wim Hof is an interesting guy。 I have heard him speak on his method on several podcasts, like The Joe Rogan Experience and Under the Skin with Russell Brand。 I have always been curious about health practices that not many know about and in that way Wim is a pioneer。 What I really like about his approach is just how much enthusiasm he has for what he does。 I have tried some of these techniques and I am curious about getting into cold water treatments。 I want to implement new approaches in 2021 and I wanted to start with Wim's insight on the breath and follow up with Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art。 I think the human body is capable of incredible things and the science is catching up with claims like Wim's。 I am thankful the conversation is being had。 I hope science does look into WHM and it helps change how we understand the breath and the body。 。。。more

Explaining the science behind breath work and cold exposure, some useful techniques for daily practice。 The book itself is more an advertisement for the WHM program but still an interesting read for the most part。

Interesting concepts。 I will definitely adopt what I've learned about breathing and cold exposure。 Even if neither helped, which I think they do, it certainly wouldn't hurt a person to incorporate these disciplines into his/her daily routine。 I would recommend this book to everyone。 It's quick, easy, and inspiring。 Interesting concepts。 I will definitely adopt what I've learned about breathing and cold exposure。 Even if neither helped, which I think they do, it certainly wouldn't hurt a person to incorporate these disciplines into his/her daily routine。 I would recommend this book to everyone。 It's quick, easy, and inspiring。 。。。more
